Fight Like Emma

Atlanta, Georgia

Emma is our miracle baby. On November 25, 2012 Emma was born emergency C-section. She had a heart rate of 40bpm and she was completely blue, not breathing. I believe she met a few angels that day before she came back to us.

We were told she was being transferred to Northside Atlanta to be placed on a cooling blanket. The doctors told us she had been deprived of oxygen and has severe global brain damage. After 47 days in the hospital we brought our girl home. We were told that we would have to “wait and see” about Emma’s future.

Although we are unsure of the road ahead we are with her all the way! With everything Emma has gone through she was spared for a reason. Emma has so many people praying for her and we are so grateful.

Emma diagnoses are; Hypoxic Eschemic Encephalopathy (HIE), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Epilepsy, Cortical Vision Impairment (CVI), Hearing Loss, Developmentally delayed and feeding difficulties. Emma has therapy 5 days a week and some weekends. Her schedule consists of occupational therapy, 2 vision therapist, physical therapy, feeding therapy, and speech therapy. We also take her to alternative therapies when we can that we pay out of pocket for; hyperbaric oxygen therapy, ABM therapy and cranial osteopathy.

Her doctors include her pediatrician, Otolaryngologist, Cardiologist, Gastroenterologist, Neurologist, Pulmonologist, Ophthalmologist, Orthopedist, Physiatrist and Chiropractor.

No matter what the future holds we would do anything for Emma. Most of you would too. She has come so far already.

We must be still and pray. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Thank you for being part of our miracle!
